Nakajima Saki no °C-ute na Jikan #229 (2016.06.04)

By | August 9, 2016

℃-ute na Jikan took a break the previous week due to a special Morning Jogakuin broadcast. On that note, Musume。 subleaders Ikuta and Iikubo were the hosts of the Jogakuin episode that preceded this ℃-ute na Jikan broadcast. It’s kind of strange to Nacky that they’re subleaders. Nacky joined H!P because she admired Morning Musume。, but now the Musume。 are her juniors.  Still, along with leader Fukuchan, she’d like them to lead Morning Musume。´16 even further.

This broadcast was recorded prior to the end-May Tamura and Suzuki Kanon Budokan graduations, so Nacky’ll touch on those Budokan concerts in a future broadcast. Instead, she’d like to talk about ℃-ute’s Hong Kong and Taiwan concerts.

They had extra time during their three days in Hong Kong, which allowed them to have some fun. Nacky found the architecture in Hong Kong to be different, with the skyline decorated with tall and thin skyscrapers. She also found Hong Kong to be a colourful place, with cute red taxis.

At the Hong Kong concert itself, the fans had laid a surprise for ℃-ute: They’d prepared towels which carried the message ‘Arigatou ~Hong Kong kara Mugen no Yell~‘ (Thank you ~An Eternal Yell from Hong Kong). The fans’ excitement at ℃-ute’s first Hong Kong concert also pumped ℃-ute up.

With just a single day in Taiwan, ℃-ute were mostly in a rush when they were there, but the staff members got them xiaolongbao and tapioca milk tea (Nacky: ‘The xiaolongbao was awesome!‘). The xiaolongbao were so delicious that Nacky wouldn’t mind  coming to Taiwan more often.

Lots of people who had been at their previous Taiwan concert were in attendance, as well as people who were seeing them for the first time. Nacky feels that there were lots of girls in the audience, with quite a lot of them copying ℃-ute’s outfits and hairstyles.

Since both countries are pretty close to Japan, Nacky hints to the staff members that ℃-ute wouldn’t mind going again.

FIVE STARS Niigaki Risa & Kamei Eri #52 (2010.03.29)

By | July 31, 2016

fivestars-gakikame

Fan mail #1: The listener is second grade middle schooler whose hobby is baseball. He asks the hosts what their favorite positions in the game are.

Gaki-san asked one of her managers to explain to her about the game so the two could answer the question properly. While she was at it, she asked what he thought their positions should be. The manager thinks Gaki-san would make for a good catcher as it’s a position where you can see the whole playing field. Kame, he thinks, would probably be a right fielder — not many balls end up all the way back there so it wouldn’t matter even if she was just spacing off most of the time.

Kame says she’s later going to harass the manager in question with incessant phone calls.

Fan mail #1: The listener has something they say they “reeeeeeeeeeeeeally” must tell our hosts.

Kame: (as listener:) “Niigaki Risa-san… Kamei Eri-san… suki dasu. Oh, wait. I made a mistake. I mean: suki desu. Phew, feels good getting it off my chest.” Well, what do you think Gaki-san? Your answer? We were confessed to just now!
Gaki-san: Um… Does this person not kind of resemble you?
Kame: Why do you say that?

That aside, the hosts are thankful — they agree it feels good to be told you’re liked. Kame says her heart is filled with love.

Airi’s Potion #2 (2016.07.13)

The first broadcast got lots of comments:

♪ 30 mins went by in the blink of an eye
♪ It surprised me how your excitement levels were 1/910th of what I imagined (Airi: I guess that’s supposed to be read ‘One over ℃-ute’?)
♪ Oh? She’s not really mumbling that much? (Airi: Oiii~ I’m doing my best not to mumble, you know~)

Airi also reads out a message from a listener who enjoys Airi’s easy-on-the ears voice. The listener also went through a period when they were very much into BoA-san. This was probably about the same time as Airi, as the listener often enjoyed listening to Kimochi ha Tsutawaru. That obsession over BoA-san led the listener to start thinking about studying Korean back then, though the only thing that remains now is a love of spicy foods.

On the topic of BoA-san, besides Airi’s recent choice of Kimochi ha Tsutawaru, Airi also enjoyed BoA-san’s earlier songs such as Amazing Kiss. She also listens a lot to BoA-san’s recent dance numbers, and she’s looking forward to more appearances by BoA-san.

Airi’s never before got a message where someone sympathises with her song selection, so she’s pretty happy. The feeling of how this programme feels like it’s being built together with the listeners is something that she enjoys.

This week’s theme is ‘Songs that blow away the uncomfortable heat‘. There are many summery idol songs, so Airi was in a bit of a pickle when it came to picking a song. But if you’re looking for a refreshing summer song, there’s nothing else but this one:

Welcome to the start of Airi’s Potion! For those who aren’t familiar with her, our host introduces herself: She’s Suzuki Airi from ℃-ute, which is a 5-person group under the Hello! Project collective. Having entered the world of entertainment in her second year of primary school, she’s now been in the industry for 15 years.

Well, while she might have been around for a long time, she’s still 22, young and spirited! As well as being an idol in the group ℃-ute, she’s also a 4th year university student, as well as a model for the magazine ‘Ray’. Personality-wise, she’s curious and would like to try out all sorts of things. She hopes that her personality will show through this radio show.

The programme’s title, ‘Airi’s Potion,’ was thought up by Airi herself. She hopes that the topics being discussed and the song selection will act as a potion that heals the listeners – a magical 30 minutes.

For the show’s very first song, we have a song from her group, ℃-ute. This song is a relatively recent release, from their album ℃maj9. With lyrics written by a female university student, Airi enjoys this song, it fits her present situation spot on. It’s also a stylish song, one that Airi hopes that you’ll listen to at a concert someday.

Japan Hello! Pro Network #30 (2015.10.21)

tor_956420709_0[1]

This episode’s MC is Tokyo resident Fukumura Mizuki from Morning Musume。´15. Joining her are ANGERME’s Takeuchi Akari and Kobushi Factory’s Hamaura Ayano, who both hail from Saitama prefecture.

This is a pretty rare combination, so Fukuchan is expecting this to be an interesting show. All three of them came from the Hello! Project Egg (now Kenshuusei) programme. While both Takechan and Fukuchan were in the programme at the same time, Hamachan’s time as an Egg never overlapped with Fukuchan. Takechan and Hamachan’s tenure in the programme overlapped for a short while though.

The day before the broadcast, Fukuchan messaged Takechan, asking Take if there was anything about Akari’s hometown of Saitama that they could talk about. Takechan’s response: ‘Nope, there’s nothing to talk about at all~!‘. Doesn’t Takechan have more confidence in her hometown? Musume。member Kudo, for example, really likes Saitama.

Takechan: Why does she like it so much?

Fukuchan: No idea~ (laughs)

And Fukuchan brings up the Saitama pose… which Takechan doesn’t know.

Fukuchan: Even Tagucchi’s done it.

Hamaura: Yeah.

Fukuchan: So why don’t you know it, being a Saitama resident?

Hamaura: Maybe Akari-chan isn’t from Saitama? (laughs)

After the music ends, it turns out that Takechan actually has hit on something good about Saitama – when there are sales, things get extremely cheap! Fukuchan finds this to be a very Take-ish observation. But things do get really cheap: T-shirts are 100 yen, while dresses are 300 yen.

Fukuchan: Awesome! It’s like gachapon prices!

We start with Yanagawa Nanami and Funaki Musubu, who thank ANGERME for passing on the baton! Speaking about ANGERME, Yanamin asks Funakki if she has any stories with an ANGERME member that she’d like to share.

Well, ANGERME’s Sasaki Rikako is one of Funakki‘s favourite senpai. Rikako is really cool, and the other day, Morning Musume。´16’s Makino Maria-san suddenly sent Funakki a video of Rikako sneezing. Funakki takes this opportunity to thank Makino-san.

How about Nanami? Her story is from back when she was still a Kenshuusei, when she was participating in the 2015 summer Hello! Cons. Murota Mizuki-san was hiding in the wings of the stage, and jumped out to surprise Yanamin. Yanamin found it really adorable, and this cute Murotan-ish incident was quite memorable for Yanamin.

This 50th episode was kicked off with by the two new members. Both of them were nervous, but Funakki learnt from Yanagawa-san’s politeness. Continuing on from last week, the remainder of this episode will come from the latter part of their 3rd March recording at Club 333 in Tokyo Tower. But before that, here’s a song from their new release!

Itsudemo! Kannon Smile #51 (2015.11.17) (guest: Kudo Haruka)

By | April 20, 2016

This show aired shortly after Sayashi Riho’s graduation announcement so for the opening topic, Kanon gives her impressions on her impending graduation. First, it’s a very strange feeling for her, since it seems like it was a short time for someone to already graduate since the last one. But, Morning Musume is a rotating group, so there is constantly the thought of “Who is going to graduate next,”. Now that her generation are the seniors in the group it seemed likely one of her own would be next, but for it to be Riho, it leaves Kanon with uncertain feelings. At this point, it’s hard to believe. The 9th and 10th generation members plus Sakura are all pretty close, so it feels like when the time comes, the tears aren’t going to stop. Aside from that, it will be strange to only have 3 members in the 9th generation. Kanon hopes to make many great memories with Riho in her remaining time in the group.

Song: Morning Musume ‘14 – Otona ni Nareba Otona ni Nareru

That aside, Kanon has a guest on her show today: Kudo Haruka! She has been requested to be on the show many times, so Kanon is happy to have her here. Haruka asks if she is the first person to be requested on the show, but no, that was Sakura. Oh well, Haruka is happy to be here anyhow. Moving back to Riho’s graduation, Kanon wonders how Haruka feels about it. Of course she was a bit shocked, but Riho was always very strong so Haruka thinks she will be fine. While the group is in “sad mode” right now, there’s no point in dwelling on it, so she hopes to move forward while cherishing her remaining time with Riho.
